PHCC Texas Recognized by Texas Governor Greg Abbott

Published on 2/5/2026

On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, PHCC Texas was invited to attend one of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s press conference highlighting job creators from across the state, hosted by Plumbers Local 68 at their Houston training facility. The event brought together industry leaders, associations, unions, and partners committed to strengthening Texas’ workforce and supporting the skilled trades.

Representing PHCC Texas were Gulf Coast Chapter Vice President Matt Lindsey, Gulf Coast Board Member and PHCC National Secretary Josh Hollub, and Gulf Coast Chapter Executive Director Lina Gurka.

Our participation is grounded in a simple purpose: advancing our trade and supporting the working families who rely on it. We will collaborate with any elected official who champions workforce development, licensing standards, safety, and respect for the plumbing, heating, and cooling industry. When leaders prioritize the future of our trade, we show up to be part of the conversation.

Governor Abbott noted that Texas continues to experience significant economic growth, surpassing 3 million registered businesses statewide, a reminder of the essential role our industry plays in keeping that momentum strong.

As Texas continues to grow, PHCC Texas and its chapters will stay engaged in conversations that shape the future of our industry and create opportunities for the next generation of skilled professionals.
